Freedom to choose or choice.  It’s a cornerstone of western societies.  But what if the abundance of choice actually paralyses us into inaction?  Makes us more dissatisfied rather than happier?

Over the next two weeks I’m going to share two TED talks that dissect this in very interesting ways.

The first is by psychologist Barry Schwartz.  I’m sure you’ll relate to the examples he uses.  And some of the cartoons are priceless!

I’ll give you a synopsis of the second one next week.  There are some very interesting studies regarding how Western and Asian societies view individual choice and the ramifications for organisations selling into those markets.
