Do you find it difficult to estimate how long a job will take? Put a finger in the air? Then find it expands to the available time you’ve estimated? This happens to me all the time.

But what if it didn’t? What if you really constrained the time you’ve allowed yourself?

A few of us decided to test this out.

Getting together, we worked in 10-minute spurts – with a timer. No distractions. Fully concentrating.

It was surprising and liberating to see how much we could produce in each round.

It forced focus. No mental goofing off. Being distracted by emails or other interruptions.

Obviously before starting we needed to decide what we’d individually be working on. Have a plan. Get all our supporting materials ready. And then go for it.

This article is an example.

I allocated 10 minutes. So far it’s been 5.

So where could you use this concept?

Could you work on one strategy to grow your business? Be really targeted in your thinking?

How many phone calls could you make in 10 minutes if you have a list prepared? Could you write a LinkedIn, Facebook or Instagram post?

Try it and let me know what you find.

I’m willing to bet your productivity will increase. I know mine is.
