How easy do you make it for prospects to contact you? How about referral sources?
I’m constantly amazed at how difficult people make this. LinkedIn profiles don’t have phone numbers. Neither do websites!
So how can I contact you quickly? How can I find out more about you and develop a level of trust?
So here’s my mini-rant!
Transcript
This is going to be a mini rant.
Why are you on LinkedIn? What do you use it for? Is it just because you think you should? Or is it because you want to make genuine connections?
My name’s Rashid Kotwal.
If there’s one thing that amazes me it’s how difficult people make it to actually connect.
I don’t mean connecting on LinkedIn. I mean what happens after that.
Huge numbers of profiles don’t have phone numbers. Others have email addresses they hardly ever monitor.
To these people I say, what’s the point?
Life and business is all about connecting with other people.
Oh, I get it. They may think they may get spammed or tele marketed to. Sure that might happen, but so what?
Get over it.
By not putting in your details you risk missing out on genuine people reaching out. People like me.
And just to be clear, when I reach out it’s not to sell you something.
It’s to find out more about you. And more often than not I’ll think of someone who would be a good connection for you. Might be a potential client, supplier or synergistic partner.
You’d be surprised at how often this happens. Do I want anything in return? No. I love connecting people. If there’s something comes back, all the better.
But none of this will happen if I can’t get hold of you.
And on a side note, I’m constantly amazed at how many websites don’t have phone contact information.
Stop hiding behind contact forms and emails. If you sell something of high value your prospects will want to speak with you. So make it easy for them to do so.
Ok, rant over.
Till next time, this is Rashid Kotwal.
