A colleague noticed that every time they had an addition to the family, and he spent time away from active lead generation, 7 to 9 months later there’d be a major lull in the business.  It was like clockwork.

It’s a principle every gardener understands.  First you sow, then you reap.  Never at the same time.  And you have to nurture the plants if you’ve any chance of success.

So no matter how busy you get you must stay focused on consistently bringing on board new clients.  Ultimately this is the only way to ensure survival and growth.
