Why do marriages die?Falling-out-of-love

Obviously there are a plethora of reasons, but surely major ones are a lack of communication between partners, feeling unvalued, unloved and taken for granted?

In the beginning you’re keen, starry eyed and nothing they do is wrong. Then often little by little complacency sets in. You start taking each other for granted. Resentment builds up. Then one day… bam, it’s over and the recriminations start.

Your customers are no different.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to keep your relationship with your customers alive and healthy. Your goal is to keep them coming back and spending more.

While you’re not married to them, if you don’t constantly value them, communicate and keep them interested in what you have to offer, they’ll leave you for greener pastures.

So show them the love. Respect them, thank them for their business and keep in touch regularly.

You can do this via newsletters (both email and physical mail), sending cards or the good old fashioned way – picking up the phone!

If you’re a retailer or intermittent service provider such as a pest controller, carpet cleaner etc., send them a voucher they can redeem if they rebook. There are lots of possibilities. Use your imagination.

And if you’re stuck for ideas, we offer short mentoring sessions where we help you progress your business goals, provide a sounding board so you to make more profitable decisions.
