We’ve all played hide and seek as children.  Your friends all hide and you need to go find them.

I think it’s a great metaphor when it comes to getting new clients.

Your prospects are hiding.  And your job is to go find them.  You can’t sit in the middle and say, “come out, come out, wherever you are”.  Just not going to happen.

I can hear you saying, “But I’m doing a lot of marketing – surely that’s meant to attract prospects”.

Sure.  Your marketing done well raises awareness.

But your best results will come from directly identifying people and reaching out.  Finding out if they have a problem and whether they’re interested in solving it.

And then starting a sales conversation.

So don’t hide behind your marketing.  Go out and seek!
