I love interviewing our clients’ clients. Finding out what they love and where things could improve. And in hundreds of interviews, there’s always been something, no matter how small, that could be better.

Just got off the phone with one who said:

“It’s been an amazing experience. We used to run our own projects internally with mixed results. But getting Mike on board has been a game changer. The way he thinks, his attention to detail, he catches things most wouldn’t.

For example, a small communication document that’s not properly written or formatted – he picks up on those things, even when I don’t expect him to. He adds so much value that I wouldn’t take on a big project without considering external resources like him.”

Mike would never know this if I hadn’t asked.

But there’s more. These conversations often uncover new sales opportunities or even spin-off products.

We’re often too close to our own business to see what’s missing. As an outsider, I can ask different questions, and people are surprisingly open about sharing feedback and suggestions.

Want to know where you can improve your service and what really matters to your clients? I’ll interview them for you, and where possible, get you referrals and testimonials as well.

And if you’re wondering whether your clients will want to participate, my experience says yes. In fact, the more senior they are, the more they appreciate being asked.

Rashid.

P.S. I also create client case-studies and testimonials from each interview. So you get a double whammy.
