In the beginning there was Web 1.0.  A pretty static affair without a lot of interaction.  Now we have Web 2.0 where social media is part of the fabric of society.

And like the Web, marketing has evolved.  We’ve gone from Marketing 1.0 through 2.0 to 3.0.

What’s 3.0 involve you ask?

Marketing 3.0 moves from the traditional brand and image to appealing to the heart.  To audiences who care about the world and your product.

I learned a lot from watching this 28 minute talk by Philip Kotler, American marketing author, consultant, and professor of International Marketing at the Kellogg School of Management at North Western University.
