I recently heard about Alaska’s Fat Bear competition – where people voted on the best prepared (read “fat”) bear preparing for hibernation.

You can watch a live stream of bears standing in the rapids here. Quite something.

Got me thinking about our businesses and preparation for our own “hibernation” – “the silly season” here in Australia – starting after Melbourne Cup and going to Australia Day – during which, for many not much happens.

To me, the bears have it right. They’re proactive. Planning months ahead. Ensuring they have enough to get them through the cold winter sleep.

Working with clients I stress getting as many deals across the line as possible. And equally important filling their sales pipeline for next year.

To me the key is doing the work now, so you get a head start on everyone else.

At the risk of mixing my metaphors, there is a distinct gap between sowing a crop and reaping a harvest.

Finesse your sales strategy for 2025 now. Nurture relationships and build trust.

The work you put in now while others are slowing down will lay the foundations for prosperity in 2025. If you only start in late Jan next year, it’ll take much longer to catch up. Time and possibly money you’ll never get back.

Right now I’ve got space to work with a couple of proactive clients who want to set themselves up for a bumper 2025.

We’ll work on your marketing and sales strategies, coach your team so that you hit your revenue and more importantly, profitability goals for 2025.
